Who Else Ran In CT's Primary Elections?

In addition to Tuesday's primary elections for Governor, here are other Connecticut election results:

Lieutenant Governor

Joe Markley, the GOP-endorsed candidate, was the unofficial winner with 48 percent of the vote in a three-way race. Markley served as state senator from 2010 to the present.

In the Democratic primary, former Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz was the unofficial winner over Eva Zimmerman with about 63 percent of the vote.

Attorney General

Sue Hatfield, the GOP-endorsed candidate, was the unofficial winner, leading John Shaban by 79 to 21 percent. She's a former state prosecutor and registered nurse.

In the Democratic primary, William Tong held an 78 to 22 percent lead over Paul Doyle, according to unofficial returns.

U.S. Senate

Matthew Corey, the GOP-endorsed candidate, was the unofficial primary election winner over Dominic Rapini, leading by 77 to 23 percent.

5th Congressional District

Manny Santos, the GOP-endorsed candidate, received about 52 percent of the unofficial votes in a three-way primary race against Ruby Corby O'Neill and Rich Dupont.

In the Democratic primary runoff for the 5th District U.S. House seat, Jahana Hayes led Mary Glassman by 62 to 38 percent, according to unofficial returns.
